Peace First - Workshop on Healthy Relationships

When: Sunday, Thursday 5 -- 5:30 - 7:30pm

Where: The Center for Violence-free Relationships, 344 Placerville Drive, Suite 11, Placerville, CA.

Description: The Peace First workshop will emphasize the importance of focusing on strategies that involve peaceful outcomes.  Topics include nurturing healthy relationships, recognizing and transforming anger, and compassionate communication.

Great Decisions 2009

When: Sundays at 10am and Thursdays at 7pm

Where: Federated Church, 1031 Thompson Way, Placerville

Description: The Great Decisions series is published by the Foreign Policy Association, a non-partisan group prompting Americans to discuss U.S. role in world affairs. Colleges, churches, libraries, high schools and other organizations utilize the materials.

Bob Olmstead will again coordinate the eight week Great Decisions series, offering each topic twice.  Each session includes a 30 minute video, plus factual presentation and lots of time for discussion.  Sunday sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. and last 90 minutes.  Thursday evening sessions begin at 7:00 p.m. and last 120 minutes.  All sessions are in the Fireside Room.
